front wings (development)

I've just been working for a guy and he was telling me about his ex farther in law who was on the design team for the TR7 he apparently had his hand in the development of the front wing and was responsable for the clay mock up.......
a guy called Jim Druce (I think thats what he was called)
these days he sculpts horses and lives in Blackpool

anyone heard of the guy..

I met one of the designers of the fuel tank sending unit. It was at a British car show a couple of years ago. He said that they were told to make the unit as cheaply as possible. I think they succeeded!

It is funny how you meet people that have had some involvement whether it is those who manufactured or sold the cars. My High School shop teacher was the service manager for Hanover Imports in Hanover, Massachusetts and he told me hours of stories about all the cars in the day. My parents worked with wife of the owner of Hanover Imports and I eventually bought an MGB-GT they got in trade for a GT6 she held on to for years. A guy Jerry was a salesman for the same dealer and he was a character! The most recent was a british chap who worked at Solihull who was part of the performance evaluation department for all the exterior bits and paint. He told me of all the different simulated conditions they would put the cars through and aggressive cycles to simulated sped up time. My favorite so far are the "Group 44" guys. I know I was born about 10 to 15 years too late so I have to live that time through others!

does anybody know if any tehnical blueprints for the tr7 bodywork ever existed or did they just transfer the clay mold to the metal stamping die with a copying mill ?
