Silicon rocker cover gaskets - Never again

Well today I toom off the rocker cover and took of the silicon gasket off. I cleaned the old sealant off the rocker. I then put it down on a glass table and then I noticed the warp. Not much just a slight bit. The front was down on the table but the front was up slightly. I tried to bend it back into shape but it does not look like it is going to move at all. So I am looking into having one shopped over from the UK, that is if I can get one. I have two spare cork rocker gaskets though to go back on.

Has anyone ever had to straighten one of these or any suggestions on how to do this.

I really hope so as this leak has been going on for a fair bit now and I just want to cross this job of the ever growing list. I had a look on flebay last night and there were two. One of them was only being held together by the rust lol.

I checked out the price of another cover and decided that it was not worth my time trying to straighten my old one out. So last night I ordered a one, which the guys said would be straight, which is good. So that will save me the trouble of trying to fix it. I will be putting a cork one back on for now. As with all the issues over the last few months, I have decided to go back to what I know. Down the line and with this new (straight) cover, I may try a silicon gasket again, but for now, I do not want the trouble. I have far more issues to take my time up on my car.

People may look at this post and say that the Silicon one leaked due to my cover not totally straight and that may be the case. All I know is that before with my cork one, there was no leak, even if the cover was not straight.

Part of the problem is that every time the rocker cover is taken off and then replaced it is possible to bend the damned thing. Doing the top screws up too tight is easily done. I know, I bent my original rocker doing just that.
