We do a lot of work on DAFs, cab conversions and spoilers, mainly on the smaller stuff LF/CF, though we make valances for the ZF. In their headquarters at Preston they have a archive section with loads of Foden Stuff on display, though like you say killed of by Paccar, I believe I saw the last Fodens in the plant being badged as Peterbilt for sale abroad. We also do a lot on Merc Axor and Actros, look out for the new aerodynamic spoiler on Mercs, thats down to us. we do not do much scania work, cant seem to get their attention.

When I bought the DHC,it hat 47,000 miles on it. Yesterday I turned 54,000,and I will have had it for 2 years in February. So far that would be around 3,500/year,as I will stop driving it when we get snow (so far,so good!) Also factored in is I drive the Mustang a bit and the Bronco when the snow arrives. The FHC has been parked,as i haven't had time to sort out the rear lights not working, and the inspection ran out. (I'm sure it's something simple, but lately I just want to go out, turn a key and go,so...) But I don'tm ind putting miles on either 7,I figure, that's what they're made for,and if I get hit by a bus, someone else is just going to put miles on,so why not me?

Just been looking through the paper work history of my newly acquired
Grinnall. There is an engineers structural report from 30 11 90 which evaluates major structural work.I can only assume this is immediately
after Grinnall had worked his magic. The stated mileage reads 73,568.
The car was valued then at £8,700! Then there is a big gap in time. The next date is an mot from 96 with recorded mileage of 38,471.
So in 6 years this wedgehas covered nearly 65,000!!The last date,25 05 07 (refusal of an mot test cert.)puts mileage at 55,594.So from this info my car has done 155,594 miles.Oh yeah, its showing its age and mileage and now has a value of some where less than 10% of 1990's
mammoth figure!Image

See ya. Paul
