The final update on this - and to all - MANY thanks for the help on getting this sorted out.

I finally got the time today to remove and replace those VB springs and put in a set of Ted's uprated springs (TSI Automotive) in the back of the car. (I also got a set of his poly spring pad mounts as well).

After a couple of hours, the car ride height was dropped more than an inch. What I found though, was something surprizing with the VB "uprated" springs. First, the actual spring was warped and twisted at the base of the trailing arm on the passenger side. Hard to explain - but I can tell you that when I pulled the originals out last year, they didn't look like this [:0] Side by side, the TSI spring coils are thicker - and shorter.

Nonetheless, my car finally doesn't look like a jacked up 4x4! [:D]
