What will the price per meter or yard be? an estimation would be nice price per seat of 40-50 seems a bit high but I have never priced tartan but I might be interested in two yards/meters which ever it will be in.

I have ordered 25 meters. When it arrives (I think 6-8 weeks), I will make sure that it is correct and confirm that 1 meter will cover two seats. I will make samples available and come up with a final price per meter.

Coming in late to this discussion (life has too many distractions to follow every TR Forum around!)...

Interested in green/black tartan. I already have new door panels waiting out of any sunlight for matching seats.

Have you considered to see if either Rimmer, Robsport or S&S would be interested to participate. We know the volume would be significantly less than the blue or tan check, but having the material will help!

I have a very good match and just had some seat covers made. On Sunday, I sent e-mails to the people who expressed an interest before I placed the order to give them the first opportunity to buy the material. This coming weekend, I will post all the details of what I have done including a link to a report with pictures and ordering information.

Greetings Wedge Lovers-

I have successfully recovered my seats with new red and black tartan. The project has been a lot of fun and very educational. I determined the pattern of the tartan and had the material woven. I took that material and a set of old seat covers with good vinyl to the upholstery shop. They sewed my new fabric into the seats. On a scale of 1-10 (where 1 is junk and 10 is perfect new seats that match the originals), I would probably give the result an 8.5.

You can see an image of Paul's nice original seats earlier in this topic. I wanted to post one or two photos of my recovered material here, but I keep getting an error when I try to load a new photo into my album ("Invalid character in text field" - I don't really understand why because I don't think I have any odd characters - any suggestions are welcome).

Therefore, I'm going to refer everyone to an outside write-up here:

I'm posting the link here because the topic began here and it includes at lot of information on the process. I apologize here that the link also includes information on the extra fabric I am selling. I will put up a new topic in the Parts forum specifically with regards to the sale.

I hope you enjoy reading the write up.

This past weekend (thanks Bendder) a few of us got to see first hand what an excellent job jtmco did with the red tartan.

We compared it to Marc's original material, and as you can see in the pics, the match is very darn close...honestly if you recovered both seats completely , I highly doubt anybody would be able to know they were not original.

Jim-When do we get green & black? I would love to match my corbeau seats with the original door panels.
