Communication Network

Postby jclay (RIP 2018) » 05 May 2010 13:41

Good morning!

As we all know, our favorite Forum has been down for several days now.

I didn't realize how much I depended on this forum to communicate with other members.

I think it would behoove us to establish an email network to quickly spread information to the membership in the event that another problem arises with the forum.

I have no idea on how to do that yet, but will be thinking about it.

Thank you Jclay, that`s an excellent idea. I am the same, I was wondering how I would manage without it. Funny how you don`t realise how important some things are to you until they are gone.

you would have to be careful with things like public e-mails.
Myself and gaz sent each other an e-mail to settle our minds
Although I do not use things like Facebook I have an account and spoke to another forum member about it being down
But everybody having their e-mail on a open forum would just be asking for trouble.

OK,

If you would like to be added to an emergency email list, click on the email icon here, when the window comes up, put your name and email address and hit send.

I will make an email group in my address book and use it ONLY when there is a problem with the Forum (or if I need money![:D])

OK, OK, only if the is a Forum Problem!!

I have never set one up before, but a facebook group might fit the bill.

There is already a TR7 group on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?gid=2317132101

I see a few familiar faces there already.

About 300 people have purchased the DVD via the forum so I suppose I have access to those email addresses if the worst comes to the worst. There can't be many TR7 owners on here who haven't purchased via the forum so that will probably take care of most of it and word would certainly spread from an email sent to all those addresses.
