Hello

Postby Mike T » 23 Apr 2010 15:57

Just a quick Hello. I feel a little guilty as I have been lurking for a short while, but decided I better join in!

This is my baby looking at her best. Looks can be very deceiving and I am doing a full rebuild on her currently. Taking on more than I imagined thanks to inspiration from Beans. (Or Beans has set the bar too high...lol)

Oops ... another one who's fallen victim to my little project, good to hear it inspires people though [:)]
But for me, the bar isn't set too high, I only get carried away a bit sometimes [:D]

Welcome and good luck with the project, keep us updated [;)]

Yah, Beans sets the bar pretty high. Plan on doing the same thing with Yellow TCT but on a shoe string. Were Beans does a job (like chemical dip cleaning) for big bucks I plan to acheive the same thing for a few dollars using different techniques for a similar (hopefully) result trading elbow grease for dollars (or euros).[:D]

Not quite true, my aim is still to get the car back on the road for it's market value ...
I think I won't be far of the mark [;)]

Nice Motor,

Any idea where that rear spoiler was sourced?

thanks all

Adam - Its a Rover spoiler, so can sorta get away with it on a Triumph [;)]. I got if from the Dutton Forshaw parts counter many years ago, so not sure which Rover model used it.

Gaz - Yep, the Preston in Lancs so not that far from you on the fylde. Your other question though is not as easy to answer!

Its 3.9 block. Morgan sold off some unused stock so I acquired the short block that way.

The heads, Fuel Injection and ancillaries, etc are from a Rover Vittesse. No serious mods, just little things like a rising rate regulator and the Rimmers sports tubular manifolds. I concentrated on getting things working well first and then plan to maybe tweek a little more.

Welcome Mike, the car looks great what exactly do you have to do to it ???

When you have removed the impossible, the improbible how ever unlikely has to be the truth.
