A celebration.

Postby Hasbeen » 28 Feb 2010 02:33

I have just come back from being very bad.

You see, I took the 8 out into the backblocks & enjoyed myself.

I thundered around corners, power slid out of some of them, & would
you believe, I think I just may have exceeded the speed limit a
little, a couple of times. I can't think of a time I have enjoyed
the thing so much.

& why was I so bad, well, I was celebrating. In the biblical sense,
I have at last become average. I think it was there that I first
heard of three score years & ten being the alloted span for a man.

So that would be average then, & I have made it. It wouldn't be
until tomorrow, if there was a 29Th this year, but as there isn't
I'm claiming today for my 70Th birthday.

Now, if I can go out & do the same thing in another ten years, then
I'll reckon I've really made it, & won't be average any more.

you make it sound like you do this only once a year, powersliding at 70? that aint average, that's a target for the rest of us! Happy birthday and many happy returns!

All the best!

Rob.

Surely being born on the 29th makes you about seventeen and a half?

A couple of sayings for the moment

Never too old to have a successful childhood...

Growing old is necessary, maturing is optional

Happy Birthday, Hasbeen!

You grew up gracefully, but remember that . ..
