6 pot brakes for 13" wheels

Postby Bobbieslandy » 17 Feb 2010 18:01

In this months copy of retro car there is an advert for drilled/grooved disks and 6 pot calipers to fit inside 13" wheels from Tar ox. They're meant for the classic mini but i'm sure i was once told the TR7 brakes are the same fitment as the mini 1275GT. That may not be true though. I've been on their website but it seems pretty useless as far as websites go so no idea on prices. Look awesome in anodised blue though!

If anyone wants to try the website.........

most of the world's manufacturers don't list their prices on their website , send them an email they will probably respond quickly.

lets see

http://www.triumphtr7.co.uk/brakes.html

person who wrote this states that the brake calipers on the tr7 and mini are the same,

then we have a tarox brake kit cataloque
http://www.tarox.com/en/katalog_zestawo ... _tarox.php

inside on the mini page you have a setup that fits 10" and 13" rims

the 6 pot caliper is this one B32-6
http://www.tarox.com/en/racing-calipers.php

and the disc are 235x18

on the caliper technical drawings the hole mounting distance is 89mm , and there are 2 sets of piston diameters.

edit:
they even produce a 12 pot brake calipers [:0]

Check out the 16 pot calipers that use 4 pads at the bottom of the catalogue, i shudder to think what they cost!

i'll put the price of the 6 pots here as soon as they reply.

Cheers for the research!

The 7's std pads fit the Mini 1275GT.

The std calipers fit the Marina. I gave mine away to a neighbour. They were used to uprate the brakes on his woody Morris Minor.
