The Accident, Before and After!

<font color="green">Back in May when touring in Scotland had a bit of a coming together with a SEAT. A couple of before and after pics here along with an "I don't beleive it!" Only just repaired all took rather a while to sort out!

Indeed looks like a good repair.

B.t.w. was the pensioner you hit a Johnny Foreigner in a hire car or someone who got his drivers licence for free with a few bags of crisps [}:)]

I was about to comment when I reminded myself of our different perspective on sides of the road.[:I] Lucky it wasn't a head on.

Looking at the damage, I would have repaired rather than fit a new wing. If it was bolt on, a new panel would be easier but not with the way the Wedges are made. Looks good whatever they did.

Hi Gordon,

Looking at the photo at the position of your cars and the fact you both have damage to the left hand side, it looks like you've both been driving on the right hand side of the road??

I had moved my car off the road by the time the photo was taken. I was on the left but when he came round the blind bend on the wrong side of the road and stopped dead I had no option but to attempt to go round to the right of him. The road was wet and greasy, brakes locked the front wheels and I couldn't quite get far enough to the right to miss him completely. Had he been on the correct side of the road and carried on (rather than stopping dead where he did) I would not have had a problem.

the guy was a local - no idea how he got his licence but he was very shaky (not sure if that was a result of the accident or his normal state!)

Insurance estimate included the fitting of a new wing but no mention of it on the final invoice so I suspect it was repaired although I didn't actually ask the question. Forget now exactly where in Scotland it was but it was a little country road across the hills somewhere in the South West corner of that fine country.</font id="green">
