Greetings to all of my friends,

I have been a member of this Forum for a little over three years now, but it doesn't seem like it has been that long. I have made some good friends here, learned a LOT about TR7s and probably aggravated a few people along the way. Many members have come and gone, but there are a lot that contribute on a regular basis.

This Forum really kicked off in May of 2002 and now has 3099 members. danny is the member that is has contributed longer that any other member, from 28 Jul 2002 to 28 Aug 2009.

I have enjoyed my time here and I hope that I have helped others to keep their cars on the road. I never, ever see another TR7 on the road anymore unless I am at a Regional function. I know that there are a lot of members that come here often, but never post. While they are learning about their cars, they are missing out on the wonderful experience of making new friends and becoming part of something much greater than just a web site forum. The participation is in itself part of the rewards of this forum.

If it were easy to drive a TR7, then everybody would have one! I believe they are becoming much rarer than Ferraris or Jags or even Vipers. All you need is a big check book to drive one of those cars.

TR7s require a commitment.

We have lost some wonderful friends over the past few years and I do miss them dearly. We are not promised how long we will be here, so let's make everyday a Triumph Day and not procrastinate about our cars.

With dearest regards,

jclay

Excellent post Jclay.

This forum has been extremely useful. Before finding it I knew very little about the 7`s little "quirks". Many of my issues have been solved easily by asking on here, whereas before the forum I would probably have taken the car to a garage. The other thing the forum does is keeps my enthusiasm for the car on a high. I have found out about various shows and runs on here that I would never have known wer happening otherwise.

Great forum, great people.

Oh, and found by google - surprise surprise.

I kept seeing Jay at TRDC events and he kept asking me if I'd joined his forum yet. In the end I succumbed and life just hasn't been the same since!

A nice post Jclay.

This forum certainly adds a lot to the enjoyment of our TR7's.

I'm not all that handy with a spanner (wrench!) but between having this forum and having Danny as a neighbour, I'm very fortunate!

If I remember correctly it was Danny that guided me to the "Best TR7 / 8 Forum"

4000 posts ! Nice One. My TR7 may not be that shiny (I am better with a spanner than a wash rag) but it brought me to work this morning, and yesterday too. Now that spring is here it's TR7 time again. Tomorrow and Sunday there's a classic car event at the Vaal River - just debating whether to show off my remodelled spoiler -courtesy of some over enthusiastic cornering - or not.

Still standing !

Happy 4000th JClay. We all hugely appreciate what you have contributed here.

I think Jolyon is to blame for leading me here. I'm sure he regrets it.

I've been here since April 2005. Having joined the Royal Australian
Navy on April fools day 1958, I actually waited a bit, so as not to
make the same mistake again. We had only just got the net, as we had
waited for broadband. Dial up, out here in the bush was more
frustrating, than useful.

The enjoyment of my Triumphs is greatly increased by all you lot
here. Makes me feel a little less odd, & the enthusiasm is
contagious.

I often find I all ready know some answers when needed from my
following the problems of some others, here. I am continually amazed
at the breadth of knowledge of some here, & the combined knowledge
is unbelievable.

I found the place, in a reference from the World Wide Wedge site, &
feel I have found my place, right here. Thanks.

Hasbeen

PS; Yes, watch it Peter, he'll lead you astray, if you need it.

Philip, I'm sorry, but you can't leave it there... Just how remodelled is it?

Strange as it may seem, a fella on the MGB Forum told me about it![:0]

Nice post Jclay. I think the cars are slowly becoming more popular amongst the LBC cult. At least I notice more coming out to the shows. All we can do is try & spread the enthusiasm.

Great post Jclay!

I guess I must have read a good proportion of those 4000 posts!

This forum has really confused me, I now expect the whole internet to be as good as this group but so far nothing else has lived up to the standard set here.

Like others are saying, I too am encouraged to work on my Triumphs and really appreciate the great advice given freely here.

I found the site when googling TR7's and reading about Trisha TR. I looked at the menu on the Trisha page and thought "I wonder what this forum button does?".

Sadly there are not too many Peters in NZ to share this site with. I have however seen 4 TR7's (two cars twice each) on the road in NZ the last 5 years, excluding club meets of course.

Jolyon

One addition. I have meant to make a comment that I suspect we long term members too often tell brand new members to search the topics for the answer to some common question. They would probably become more involved if we did the search for them and provided the link or just answered the question again and again and again. Remember what it felt like when we were new and someone wrote out an explanation just for us, it felt great and made us part of this community.
