Hi!

After reading this topic and meeting Steve here in Houston, I decided to start a new group here in Houston.

How many times have you needed someone to help you with your 7? I know that 5 years ago there were tons of 7s in Houston, so where did they all go? We want to find out, help people fix their cars and get them out on the road for some fun times.

We are having a big parade in Houston next week-end and the whole Triumph club will be there! So will my 7!!

Wish you were closer Jclay!!

Actually it was the same over here 5+ years ago...started going around to the local cruise nights, and brit shows.and
At one meet, found a bonified wedge nut (did you have a Canadian brother Clay [:D]) who took me under his wing and showed/taught me right from wrong.
He allways make additionsto a list of peeps he'd met over the years, and eventually we started a call sheet to bring the cars to the shows, & meets.
Unfortunately he passed away a few years back, and the interest from others has weened .....
(even myself right now admitantly [:I]) but once things settle down on the home front, I'll give it a shot one more time!!!

Ron,

Was that Cruzzer? (Died on Thanksgiving, I think). There was also a guy from Canada who died right after Cruzzer on Christmas day (I seem to have a mental block for his name.).

nope, sorry don't know who cruzzer is?????

This guys name was Peter Rudge, he had one very original (except paint colour {cough, cough}) 79 TR8 FHC.
He knew these cars inside out,and was very particular about his ride.(even left strick instructions to his wife in the will about what she was to do with the car , once he was gone!)
The man was also very strong about keeping the cars factory stock, and perhaps was a little to quick to fault others for mods, that in his mind were not necessarily and de-valued the cars .....he' even had a little rep for firing off letters to the tr8 club, basically blasting them from time to time.....

I liked Peter though, and while didn't perhaps agree with everything the man said, understood where he going with his ideas just the same!!!

KBA's still running and I'm driving her as much as possible if the weather's good [:)].

I don't generally see any wedges about on the road here except occasionally at TR Register Northumbria group meets, but that's not something that's specific to this year.

There have never been a lot of wedges here in Alaska; more likely to see one on Craigs List than on the street, but there are a few. My TR8 lives in Oregon so I can take it to some events bigger than we have here. I only get a couple of weeks a year with it, but I put about eight hundred miles on it last October, and similar distance in May. It was one of four Wedges out of 24 Triumphs on a Portland Triumph Owners outing in May.

I'm planning to be at the Portland All British Field Meet in September.

Planning on being there myself with my Spider, with Ron's Orange V6 or his son's Triton green coupe and possibly clubs presidents dark green TR7. (After we stop into McMinnville to see the Spruce Goose.)

I used mine as the work car today as the Focus went in for a service. It performed admirably in the wintery conditions, even the heater worked, but I don't think I earn money as fast as this car drinks it.

Peter... Please don't say that: we got our first TR7\V8 last week!
The gauge must be stuck: it still reads half-full!

Maxwell, I'd hate to worry you about how thirsty an 8 is, so I'll
just give you a hint about the 4.6Ls fuel consumption.

When I want to go out in it, I'll go up the shed, & get it out. When
it's out I'll notice how low the fuel is. I will then drive the
30+Km to the nearest place I can get 97 octane, & fill her up.

About now, I'll notice that filling the 8 has emptied my wallet, &
as I can no longer afford to go out, & I will drive home, & stick
the thing in the shed.

A few days later I will decide to go out in the 8. When I get it
out, I'll notice how low the fuel is.

You probably have the idea now, that with an 8, or 7V8 you get very
good at finding your way to the nearest petrol station.

The fact that the tank is sized for a 4 cyl doesn't help either.[;)]

Driving mine, alternating between it, the MGB and the Harley. Decissions..Decissions [:D]

Will be taking it to summer party next month. Looking forward to the dragstrip and autocross.
