Rear spoilers are a good way to reduce fuel efficiency & reduce top-end speed. Having one on a road car is like having a fancy coffee - makes you feel good but not the best use of your money & not particularly good for you. My car had a MkI MR2 wing when I bought it but it got taken off when the car was repainted even though I didn't think it looked half bad. These are the best pictures I can find of it.

My opinion also Peter. I'd never have one on my daily driver. Makes it a PITA to get the snow off the boot lid and if you ever tried lifting the lid with 4" of snow on it you would relate. Then there's the mater of cleaning under it. Nice for looks though if tastefully done.

Which one is best, the body coloured or the one coloured (nearly) like the blue hood (when raised!)?

Note that they are supposed to be bolted down, but I would imagine that today's glues will probably be OK.

405 spiolers do fit but try and get one with the high level brake light, and were a populsr add on in the late eighties and nineties

If you wish to add a modicum of downforce with a minimum of drag, a lip spoiler on the trailing edge of the bootlid is the answer. The one from a 1983-85 Audi 80 Quattro does the job perfectly, but they're not exactly common any more . . . .

I'm sure it says somewhere in the Untold story book that you have to have one hell of a spioler as on the group 44 car to have any effect on the Tr7's handling
