Despite the low milage the car looks really rough. Top has been changed, cover over leather TR8 steering wheel. Looks bad in pictures which don't usually show much. Still, if there's no body rust it can be cleaned up.

Do they really bring that much more than a standard TR7? Just curious. I know the MGB Limited Editions don't seem to bring much more than a standard B in similar condition.

I'd seen this a couple days ago when he originally listed it as a '79. In reality, it looks to be in comparable shape bodywise to mine when I bought it (for $2000), and I had to drop $3500+ that first year just to be roadworthy. If I was in the market for one, and lived closer to El Paso, I'd definitely go look...heck the seats and carpet alone make it better than mine was when I bought it. My brother lives in Las Cruces and called last night asking if I thought it was a good deal...told him based on what I could see from the description, YES! Might end up having twin Spiders in the family.

Edit: Too late now...someone snatched it up with the Buy It Now.

According to Bill Piggott's book it's the most desireable of the special editions. This one's fuel injected. There were 120 fuel injected Spiders made in Canley and 80 FI's made in Solihull, don't know where this was made as VIN number wasn't posted. 2,000 total including carbed versions so they're quite rare.

I see it sold by Buy It Now for 3 grand. Not nearly as good shape as mine which I got for $3,500 (makes me feel good) and I still spent $3,000 replacing rubber parts for poly, door panels, front shocks, front springs, ball joints, etc.

Anybody here buy it?
