up the revolution 15" on the grinnall in my opinion 17" have got to be too big and surely even with the hardest of springs has got to cause some scraping of the arches on a good ole english road. unless again you go for a very low profile tyre where again the ride has to suffer.

That's pretty good value John 215.

I just paid A$700+ for a set of Falcon 15" on the 8.

I did think seriously about Pirelli P6000s, which are much better
tyres.

They would want to be, with an estimated life of only 20,000Km, &
A$1250 for the set, I decided they were a bit rich for my blood. It
seems it's not just Triumph parts that get a bit expensive out here
in the colonies.

Thats what i thought, had to fit them myself or rather got one of the apprentices at work to do them, they have to be good for something other than making tea and loosing your tools!!!

From Memory they are BMW Alpina I am sure he will be here soon to confirm

Don't know what they are but no Alpina's (which have 20 spokes)

I think it's all been said by now, but to add my 2c I find 205/50/15's about as firm as I want to go - that's with 200lb spring rates and uprated dampers; 40 profile might just be too much. Then again, we're talking about Australian roads here!

I'm thinking of going up a bit - say to 55 profile, but that will depend on what's available in that tyre size.

They might be BMW's (which I doubt) but certainly are not Alpina's, they have 20 spokes, it's their trademark ... sorry [8)]

Over here we call copies "Alpino's" and there are quite a few [:p]

I won't dispute the fact that they do fit a BMW [:D]

it depends on the style of the wheel to ..
I think the Grimall with 17 "very nice but as a whole! (1 piece !)

john, but the 17 "on the silver TR were very large (other type) apologize and the 14 "I find too small.. 15 would be Ok .. small wheels make the TR 7 old, big wheels impact sports and modern.. a mix of both is certainly well...

@ TR8 nice !! both type of wheel - I prefer the Compomotive they are fine

I us 16" Revolution ML 3 Piece .. my Disc are big ...

Just my opinion but I think that with the 17's you are getting into "Donk" territory. I might eventually go to 15's myself but that's about my personal limit. I agree that huge wheels look much better with a modern paint colour and Scottish's metallic paint is a good choice. That's a very nice car...and those Brembos![:0]
