I recognize that car on the front cover! ACG97 belonging to a certain Mr. Turner.

I was asked to write a TR7 article for the magazine almost 2 years ago but I never got paid and it never got printed. Some good has come out of is though as much of what I scrawled has been used by the new author for this article. I'm still deciding on what to do about that but at least this article has mainly correct information as a result.

Brilliant to see this early TR7 featured so prominently in a magazine. Well done Chris for agreeing to let Triumph World come along and photograph the car and speak to you.

I was told about the article by a friend in the US, I was not sent a copy of the mag so I didnt see the article. I bought one locally and then phoned the editor, he said they had forgotten to send one and immediately put 2 copies in the post for my mother and the mechanic who works on the cars. Im pleased with the article, the writer is local to me and is doing a write up on the Coca Cola car when its finished.

i always find this mag a great read..........when i can find it for sale that is not many places stocck it i'll have to go on the hunt for it now........ and the new editor simon goldsworthy seems a really nice guy

<font color="green">Don't buy this mag that often as it is hard to find in the shops round here and, I think, rather expensive for what it is. Bought this edition though as there are a couple of my photos decorating the Club Triumph article. They didn't exactly make the most of them and one of the captions is vague and the other completely wrong. The one with the flag was taken at the Silverstone Classic and you can just see the nose of GRD if you look hard. The one which claims to be cars lined up at the start of one of the CT events is actually cars on display at the Sporting Bears Charity event at Kimbolton Castle last summer. For the record those cars (including GRD again and another of the Coca Cola 7's belong to members of the Northants & Leics CT group).

I bought this mag once becuase they did a feature on TR Yoof at the TR International at malvern last year.

What strikes me is that it is clearly written by a team who know nothing about Triumphs OR cars!

This particular edition featured an article on how to convert a TR5 to a TR4a !!!!! [:0] which is just the most incredible thing I have ever heard on so many levels.

This was followed by a picture from the Bromley Pageant of an immaculate TR7 DHC engine bay at the show and the captions made a big fuss of the big V8 it had - the picture clearly showed it was a standard 4 cylinder 8V but dressed up with chrome!!!!

Nope actually it IS a 2 litre, next picture shows full engine bay shot with caption:

I know the car well!

Dripping in chrome, and a HUGE Union Jack painted on the underside
of the bonnet - and yes, it is 'only' a 2.0l hiding under all the sheathed pipework!

Kids swarm around it at shows like bees around a honey-pot!

At least it is a Triumph only magazine avaialable to the masses. Better to have one, than to not have one at all. What I say if you don't like it no one is making you buy it. I personally like it and the price is circa any other magazine. I do agree they do make mistakes but then again who doesn't.

I spotted one of the errors Gordon mentioned but it's a really good write-up for Club Triumph regardless. In fact, I'm very much enjoying this edition and very tempted by the ultra-cheap 5 issue subscription at £12 including postage. I think a cheque will be going in the post before the close of the offer at the end of the month.

ACG97 looks fabulous in print Chris. Congratulations!

Having Simon Goldsworthy as editor will bring a great improvement.
He is first class, a real enthusiast. He has made huge improvements to"MG Enthusiast" magazine during his time there,and I hope he is able to make Triumph World just as readable. I have always found TW to be very non-TR7/8 oriented. I am sure that attitude is on it's way out.

I have every issue of this mag (sad i know [:I]) up to getting taken over was a superb read but standards has dropped [:(] Have been unable to find this months anywhere [:(!] Was even going to put a post on here to see if still published!!!
