Is Bordeaux red a metallic or a solid colour?

yep, metallic.

A color which comes very near is richelieux red. This is a non-matellic color. color was on cars from '79

TR7, ACG 2700L

I think the non metallic red for 79-81 is carnelian.

I think both Richelieu (CCE) and Carnelian (CDE) are non metallic colours, with CCE only being listed for 1979 Canley built cars for the US market.

Bordeaux red (CCK) indeed is metallic ...

This is the colour of my car and after I cleaned it up, I was surprised to find out that CCK is metallic

I had exactly the same thoughts after cleaning mine up. Hence why I had to ask.
Maybe they are not very big metal flakes!

My Bordeaux red looks brown, but I buffed out an area and it became red. Boy, that cloth was ruined!

Maybe I can do the rest of the car some time this winter.

This TR7 DHC has just popped up for sale in Skegness ... the interior has been swapped out but looks to be a bargain at £1000
