Replacement headliners - good fit?

Postby Mowog73 » 08 Sep 2008 11:33

The headliner in the FHC we are restoring is stained in areas and an attempt to clean a spot was futile. Are replacement headliners of good quality, i.e. do they fit correctly?

Try using Marhyde vinyl pait before tearing that out. Is the material OK? If it is, Try going that route.

The material itself is in good condtion (only one, 1/2" long tear) so giving a vynil dye a try is worth while. If it doesn't work then we'll just have to give one of the headliner kits a try.

I have recently fitted new headlinings to 2 cars, they fit better in the cars without sunroof but both were a perfect fit and I bought them from S+S a couple of years ago cost about £40

I got mine from Rimmers and was pleased with the fit and material.
I installed it with the front and rear windows in place. It would certainly have been easier with them out, but wasn't too terrible.
One suggestion I would have is to unfold it a couple of weeks before installing to let the packing wrinkles fall out. Warming it with a hair dryer might help remove them as well.

Mark.. I too got mine from Rimmer Brothers. You saw the fit in the 7 before I got rid of it. With the sunroof, it fit like a glove. I had it installed by an auto shop in Newmarket. Shipping here to Canada was very reasonable too.
