Mike,
Cheers, But with a 2.84:1 ratio rear axle and a SD1 gearbox the speedo is all over the place....under reads by about 30%

So sounds like the 205 55 15's will be ok...I'll know tomorrow for sure !

Cheers Martin

Well the wheels are on with 205 55 15 tyres. No rubbing at the back, but on full lock the front rubs on the chasis in front of the wheel, but only on full lock.
Good enough for me !

Why 55s? 50s would have allowed you to go 215 wide.

If it only rubs one side - not the car is not true!! The axle (or rear end) must be off centre.

I would have agreed with you, but like I said, we looked at several TR7's in Revingtons yard and most were similarly "out of true" . The apparent offset is very small - probably only 1/2 inch or so, but it was enough for the o/s rear to rub on the arch with the suspension compressed. Given that most 7's have had some form of rear arch repairs in their life and the apparently poor fit of many repair panels, some or all of it may be down to that.

Looks great - I have to say I think they do look better with body colour on the sills!

Chaps, just a point the wheels on this are the 16"s running 205 rubber without fouling the arches. It is close to the shock stanstion but again does not foul. Can't comment on 215' but 195 and 205 tyres are OK.[:o)]
