<font face="Century Gothic"><font color="purple">As Gordon states above the forum is hosted on commercial servers - there's no control over hardware (or OS) upgrades. The site (the forum & triumphtr7.com) is not anywhere near to approaching the bandwidth limit of my current agreement, making an upgrade a pointless exercise.

There is scheduled downtime on the servers - this is usually in the early hours (UK time), which does affect availability, again that is outside of my control.

The forum does sometimes run slow when there's a lot of concurrent connections - this is down to the MS Access database behind the forum; there's regular optimisation on the MDB to try and alleviate those problems.

The answer (for forum speed) is to move to a proprietary database - and this is in the offing....

GRNDSM - Snitz forum development has not moved on for a couple of years. The new forum will be a completely different package (still ASP) - therefore it is not simply a matter of upgrading a few pages, unless existing topics and user IDs are to be lost.

The forum will retain a unique look - there's too many PHP forums that look the same, bar the logo.
