Your right it was from 1977. For some reason it was burn in the brain it was only one year in N/A. For those you aren't aware the archives of Triumph Newsletter is available;

Here is link to 1977 Jan-Feb. shows cut away and key of components.

Some where there must be diagrams of paint scheme although from pictures from a multiple of sources you could get a close enough faxsimile that no one could tell. Hopefully it's not lost for posterity.

Great you tube shots. The female voice in the second one must be his ex Vicki who rallyed with him after divource. How does that work?

Those rallye clips should be required viewing for ever MGB owner.[8D]

Note: As a Canadian I ambidexdrously use the US rally and the British rallye[;)]

I have the William Kimberley book from 1981 (got it before I bought my first TR7 in 1984) and it has excellent color photos of the works cars. I have been meaning to do scans of those photos.

As far as Vicki and co-driving, as a co-driver myself (well, up until last year), it is funny to listen and think that that was the top US team of the day. However, I dont know John well enough to ask him about an ex-wife!

That’s great footage, nice to see the rallye car in action. And I had forgot about the old issues of TSOA for information.

Thanks everyone for your help. I now have the colour codes and some nice high res pictures of one of the actual cars. Hopefully by fall my son's car will be painted to loook like a rallye car.
