Guess what?? My dad found an old custom steering wheel he had in his shed today, a 13" and we also found a triumph logo horn center piece that fitted it. All leather around it, and alum struts (it that what you call them?), and looked awesome on the car. Only thing is I need a gearstick to match.

But when we went to put the other steering wheel on, we found the splines were too small on the wheel! Nooooo! I'm heartbroken. Such a nice old 60's wheel. [8D]

Hi Orophin,
If your new find has screws holding on the center hub on then change it for a TR7 splined hub and jobs a 'good un' [:D] With Stoneliegh in a couple of weeks you may even find a second hand one there.
Cheers John.

I think the original steering wheel is ok, even better with the US spec crash pad centre, as fitted to the 1977 TR7 Sprints.

I've just taken this old steering wheel apart and cleaned it and it now looks amazing! John 215 - 3 screws do hold it on. Is that the case with the TR7 wheel? Would the hub fit??? This would be AWESOME!!!

Hi,
When you buy an aftermarket steering wheel you buy the 'hub' to fit your make of car, these are available seperatley, not sure about 3 screws most have at least 6 that i have seen.
Cheers John.

I have always thought the Momo Prototipo looked best on the wedge and feels very nice in hand.

The pics give the idea, but sadly, not wedge dash bg:

Riming wood? I thought that would have looked a little out of place since theres no other wood in the car. You got any pics? I may just get a hub kit for this wheel. Just got to make sure it fits the wheel. This new wheel only has 3 screws, shall i get pics up?

And this one's waiting to be put in car for ages now ...

Woodrimmed Nardi wheel, will be put in the DHC when it's finished, together with some nice black leather seats which keep it company in the attic at the moment ...

(sorry 'bout the piccie quality [8)])

Owen-What kind of car is that dash from? Looks pretty interesting!
Orophin-Love that wheel! Hope you can get it to work,it is very nice, and exactly the kind of whell I would like in my car.
I'm OK with the one I have (the similar one with the US crash pad is gawdawful-like someone plopped a giant shield in the middle of the wheel with no regard to style!) and I like the TR8 one, though every time one comes up on eBay,it gets bid too high for my tastes. May save up and get a Momo like the one in my Mustang,or like the one shown in this thread. I think the wood ones are nice too,esp if you put a wood gearshift knob and/or dash in to complement it.
