Only the late cars had the longer throttle cable that was routed via a metal loop attached to the turret top (well, UK cars at least, don't know about US Spec). Presumably that was to make the cable run to the throttle linkage straighter?
The replacement cables that you can buy all seem to be the earlier shorter type that simply curve round to the linkage from the bulkhead.
On a related note, I see Rimmers sells a longer cable (160cm) for LHD cars. Is that in fact suitable to use as a long cable on later RHD cars with the turret top routing?
