Dave are you talking about the kit that converts the late Waxstat type jet to the earlier non Waxstat type?
Assuming you are not making other changes like different needles & filters, or exhaust manifold, then it's not going to make any appreciable difference to performance but I have heard that the idle stability may be improved. Getting the carbs correctly tuned, whether Waxstat or non Waxstat type, is essential & will give you the best running.
I think you have to remove the carbs from the manifold to install. Good opportunity to clean & check everything else.
