It didn't work for the body work - LOL.
Actually it is the head gaskets that are either tin or composite. The composites are thicker so they lower the compression ratio a tad but are more forgiving.
With the valley gaskets there is the tin type and the later part that is coated with teflon which won't rust. I don't think it would be a good idea to paint it.
While googling around I found that you can get tin exhaust gaskets.
