Irony and switchgear

Postby tipo158 » 24 Apr 2009 21:26

When I got my first TR7 years and years ago, it had been in an accident and while waiting to be repaired, someone stole most of the switchgear (the dashboard switches) out of it. Snipped them off at the harnesses.

Being a poor college student in New Mexico (far away from Triumph parts sources), I replaced the missing switches with toggle switches.

Now, here it is 25 years later and I have another TR7. I now have one with all of the proper, original switchgear.

I am building it into a stage rally car and I have been studying the interior photos from the works cars. It looks like I will be removing those nice, original switches and replacing them with toggle switches.

No matter how many often I realize this, I still can't get over it.

Holler if you want to sell your switchgear. They're nice to have as backups.

i guess that in a rally, you want the switches to actually work....

I had a Lotus Esprit S2 and it uses the same switches. I like them. You can take them apart, clean the contacts and reassembled them.
