Struts

Postby cdndave » 26 Aug 2008 22:31

I have recently bought a 1980 tr7 and need to have the front springs replaced to have the car saftey certified.I may as well replace the struts at the sametime, my issue is the replacement struts are not exactly the same as the old struts. The old struts have a tit on the bottom end that sticks out and mates with a hole in the cannister or sleve. The new strut does not have this tit.Is this going to be a problem if I use the new strut without the tit?
Thanks Dave.

Didn't with mine. Incidently I POR-15'd the inside of the tube (canister) with a toothbrush tied to bamboo stem (got lots of them growing out front). I figured as it is open at the bottom I'd prevent it from rusting from the inside.
