Here’s where to discuss anything specific about your standard(ish) car or something that applies to the model in general.

Compatible AC parts???

Postby Sean Roth » 07 Apr 2014 17:13

Any compatible part numbers that you all know of for the compressor? I am thinking of installing a Sanden unit.

Also, any compatible dryer?

There are conversion mounts to use for a modern Sanden compressor on an existing York mount, mostly because classic Mustangs used similar units.

You are going to need replacment hoses for at least two of the 4 hoses and I strongly sugest replacing them all.

Who ever you get the compressor from should be able to help you with the dryer. Most of the fittings are 3/8" flare on the existing stuff. I think that the exception is the line from the compressor to the firewall and perhaps the compressor to the condensor.

I purchase one from Napa Auto parts a while ago. The part number is TEM 208631.

I think that the only difference is that the sensor port is on the motor side rather than than the bulkhead side. The sensor has enough slack to reach though.
