TR7 / Dolomite Sprint Conversion - SU CARBS

Here’s where to discuss anything specific about your standard(ish) car or something that applies to the model in general.

Before I get rid of the sprint carbs, is bonnet clash with the TR7 (High)dashpots a possibility?

It might well be but I had the Sprint screw-on oil filler cap touching the bonnet(hood). Solved that one by using the TR8 subframe spacers.
You might also get the exhaust touching the chassis rail. Two fixes for that problem are to bend/hammer the exhaust, or a small machining of the right side engine mount to make the engine lean over a little to the right. I can post some pictures if you want.

Thanks for the info. I did a search before and noted the modifications that might be required to the exhaust and/or mounting. I hope that I get lucky and avoid all that. I'd better keep the low dashpots just incase.

Am I right in thinking that the low dashpots can be used on the wedge?

I think they can be used because the carb bodies are the same.

The low dashpots certainly work well on mine.

Russ: I'd be interested in seeing the engine mount modification you did to get the engine over the the right. Doesn't that make the oil fill sit even higher?
