Here’s where to discuss anything specific about your standard(ish) car or something that applies to the model in general.

Nope. Wrong, not in Kimberleys book. I know I've seen a JHP on eBay before though, it had a blue velour TR7 export interior.

Must be early for a UK sale car.

My TR8 was built in October 1979 so must have been around at the same time.

Cheers

I think it stands a good chance. Registration is very close to the ones that were used in promotional material of the period.

Hi John,

Thanks, I thought this must be one of the press cars, the registration looked familiar. I think this looks a good buy for someone.

Press Car TR7 - JRW 581V

Postby tr4me » 16 Sep 2013 13:57

Hi,
Yes JRW581V lives. I purchased the car in 2011 and the car is currently undergoing a rebuild. I hope to have the car back on the road for 2014 at Billing.
I was told it was a press car but was finding it difficult to find out any info. So am really pleased to see this post. If anyone has any more info. I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi Rob,

:D WELCOME TO THE BEST TR7 / 8 FORUM IN THE WORLD EVER :D

When I get a minute will look through my press cuttings book for the DHC and see who else got there hands on her.

Remind me a lot nearer the time, but get anything else I find for your car photocopied and take to Billing.

Be great to see pictures of her now,

Cheers John

Press Car TR7 Convertible - KHP646V

Postby Roy Hankins » 16 Sep 2013 19:29

I was going to ask the same question John. I think I may have met Rob once when I was at Billing, when I had my Yellow convertible press car KHP 646V. I seem to remember him asking about it and mentioning that he also owned a convertible press car.

Welcome to the forum Rob. So what colour is JRW 581V? It wouldn't be Inca Yellow by any chance would it?
