Mystery wires under dash?

Here’s where to discuss anything specific about your standard(ish) car or something that applies to the model in general.

Mystery wires under dash?

Postby striker308 » 18 Oct 2007 15:10

Some of my previous post have eluded to the fact that I have some electical problems. Upon looking under the dash near Steering column I find 4 hanging wires with bullet connections on. The colors are 2 green, 1 connector with 2 green/yellow stripe wires and 1 connector with 2 green/white stripe wires.

Any thoughts?

Here's a list of what doesn't work:
1. Brake lights
2. Turn signals
3. Instrumentation lights
4. Clock
5. Fuel Gauge
6. Running lights
7. American fuses found in the 1st and 3rd fuse block location.

Are they all related?

Thanks

Light Green wire? Pay it no mind, it goes to the Heater Fan and will do you no good!

Dark Green Wire? Aye, Laddie, that is the one you're looking for!

Goes to fuse 15/16, 25 Amp.:
Controls the Wipers, Brake lights, Turn signals & Reverse Lights

Green/Slate also goes to the Trun signals from the switch to the E. Flasher Switch. Then the Green/White wire go to the Bulbs them selves.

Marker lights, Right side is fuse 7/8, Left side is fuse 9/10.

Jclay, Thanks again for the information. Since it does get cold here in PA, I'm going to have to check out the heater fan.

Thanks,
