TR7 Cold Start injector Fuel Line Replacment Video

Postby HDRider » 31 Aug 2021 01:09

I just posted a short video of me replacing the fuel line to the Cold Start injector in my 1981 TR7. The car only has about 40,000 miles on it but this E10 fuel eats stuff up!!!!

We had a lot of trouble with fuel & oil hoses a while back here in Oz. The previously top brands were failing in hours or months.

A specialist told us the problem was relocating some manufacture to Mexico, & not to use any hose not branded "made in USA", regardless of manufacturers name or reputation.

Since following that advice, no further problem.

I replaced mine with what ever the local auto parts store had. As they are/were the only parts vendor for all the local repair shops, they only deal with top of the line stuff. I would have thought stuff like alcohol resistant fuel line would be common place by now but I guess you have to look into it closer.

My parts store stocks both regular and fuel injected lines. The regular ones are only rated for about 10psi. The CARB (California Air Resources Board) Approved lines are "Barrier" hoses wherein they have a special lining that is resistant to alcohol fuels.
