Valve Clearances on the standard engine

Looking for some guidance on the valve clearances as mine are all under by a small amount. Should I leave or adjust.

Inlets are around 0.002" under at about 0.006"
Exhausts are around 0.002" to 0.004" under coming in at 0.014" - 0.016"

From what I have read so far I am thinking I can leave them, any thoughts?

Pete

Excessively tight valve clearances will not only affect performance but can lead to burnt valves.
The reason there are tolerance limits is that anything outside those limits is no good......near enough is not good enough!

Ny experience is that 2 thou under is enough to start to seriously effect performance. 2 thou over5 is noisy enough to have the valve cover off very quickly.

We are very lucky here in South East Queensland, Greg Tunstall, our local specialist offers an exchange service. Send in the shims that are on longer correct, & he will send back the size you need exchange, for a small fee.
