Wheel Stud splines

Hey Guys, need longer studs for new wheels as I am fitting 10mm spacers so i reckon 40mm of thread length should do it, but does anyone know the spline width/spec's ? Too lazy and enjoying driving my car too much to knock a stud out to measure it, and hoping one of you have one handy to run the rule over.

Try Demon Tweeks or Merlin Motorsport, the TR7 studs are M12
Overall length is ±42 mm, thread length ±22mm collar ø12,5mm and 29 splines

Thx to some shiny zinc plated studs in the garage for a restoration project that is lagging behind schedule

glad you have decided to return to the fold, and yes, still got and still rehoming greyhounds ha ha.

I have got 10mm spacers on my V8 as I have now got a set of MG TF alloys and needed to get longer studs to accomadate the spacers and as Beans said, Merlin Motor sport was the place to go especially as it not far from here and they had them in stock.

Hey, Moe, Beans. Just got studs from Demon Tweeks, looks like i might have to remove the hubs/half shafts to get enough space to put them in place. Might be a job for the winter ! I got some 15" Wolfies with that MG offset ( i think ) at 35mm. TR7 is 25mm, so Got 10mm spacers like yours, Moe. I got the wheels for the v8, but even with 10mm spacers, they do not clear my Princess callipers sufficiently, so i may look at specialist adaptors for it. So the Wolfies are now on the auto with Toyo proxis t1's at 205/55. I really like the look and the rim size and tyres are amazing for handling and grip, they are not harsh or noisey. Really transforms the auto into a Grand Tourer.
Glad you are still caring for the 'hounds Moe - we have got about 30 rescued cats and a handful of bunnies right now !

Hi Paul, my wheels clear my princess calipers on the front and at the moment I have not put the spacers and studs on the rear wheels as the TF wheels seem to clear everything okay, I will probably leave that job to the winter as well. I have put a set of Uniroyal Rainsport 3 tyres on the wheels.
30 cats ha ha, could always cause some chaos by bringing a couple of hounds over

What wheels you using, Moe ? My callipers are set off center by a small fraction which works with the Minilite 15" rims, but not with the 15" Wolfies - go figure ? 20 " spacers will fix the clearance, but I dont like the idea of the stress on the extra long studs required. Might have to get hold of some hub adaptors with hub locators built in which would be safer/more secure. Are you going to the national ?

Hi Paul, I have put MG TF 16 inch Hairpin alloys, to get the off set and clear the princess four pot calipers I have put 10 mm spacers on the front with longer studs, I have not put the spacers on the rear wheels as I think I would need to flare out the wheel arch.
I have a pair of 5mm spacers if you want to try them with the wolfies you are welcome to borrow them.
Not sure if I will be going to Gaydon, I would like to, as have had some serious health problems and finding difficulties driving the beast
Let me know if you want to try the spacers, I can always send them to you.

Hey Moe, Sorry to hear you are under the weather, thanks for the offer of the spacers, but I think the afore mentioned adaptors will be the way to go. Hope to make Gaydon for at least Saturday in the auto and possibly Sunday in the Monster ( fingers crossed ), would love to see you there if you are up to it. Cannot wait to see a few old faces at the National too.

Unfortunatly I won't be able to make it to Gaydon this year so look forward to meeting up at some time in the future.
Can you let me have your email address at some time as my old computer crashed in a big way so scrapped it but lost all the info on it including all my email contacts.
