Here’s where to discuss anything specific about your standard(ish) car or something that applies to the model in general.

Fuel gauge late is full

Postby syol » 18 Feb 2019 19:13

the fuel gauge always indicates full, I change the gauge of the tank, change the gauge of the dashboard, always the same result.
Do you have an idea ?

Thank you

Maybe its just optomistic........
It will have to be a problem with the wiring.

Hi, it could be due to a break in the green and black wire that runs from the sender in the tank to the fuel gauge. Check the continuity of this wire. It is also possible (although unlikely) that the new gauge is also faulty.

Wire that goes to sender unit shorting to earth somewhere, that would be my guess.

Only trouble now is finding out where, I would start at the back (tank) and work forward.

Hello, thank you for your answer, I tried to put the ground wire directly to the battery ... I always have the same result
