Some years ago I had electrical problems on my 8 and here in SA found an electrician who had been an apprentice at Lucas's. Now we all know about having the correct sized (Length)glass cylinder fuses but I now learn't something else. My Lucas man condemned my fuses as useless Chinese & Japanese junk that caused dry connections. This was because the actual fuse wire was dry soldered internally ( identified by smooth end caps) and could become partially disconnected. The correct fuses to use should have the wires protruding through the end caps and then soldered on top of the end cap.
