Just wonder where Sydney owners buy their rear brake pads locally, to save spending loads on p&p.

I just go to my local brake specalist: Trade Brake & Clutch, and buy some, exchange the old shoes, they redo them.

Phil,
Support Cobbers recommendation. Local brake specialist - check out the web, there are a number of national providers who provide a re-bonding service. The brake linings (not pads) on the rear of our cars are bonded to the metal shoe and it is a common practice to remove and replace the worn or oil contaminated old linings with a newly bonded non asbestos material. I am old enough to remember re-lining my own brake shoes back in the 1970s. In those days you bought a new set of Ferodo VG95 competition linings which came complete with new rivets and did your own. Very easy job.

Thanks guys for the info. In the end I could not fine any places local to do the brakes and I could not find anywhere that sold a set. So I had to take a big gulp and pay the p&p. I ended up getting a set and all the bits I needed from ANG Classic Car Parts. They were the only ones that did a decent price on the p&p. The difference in some costs were just shocking.

So now I have cleaned most of the old brake bits up and I am hoping that the new parts arrive before the Easter break so I can fit them during the time off.
