People with larger calipers have trimmed off the offending area (if it's a bit), if you have the originals you could do the same but of course you have to be careful not to trim too much so as to cause a leak or weaken the structure problem. Not sure about the Dolomite but the Spitfire which uses the same PCD has smaller lug and probably smaller (outside diameter) nuts to fit. This may be the case with the Dolomite. You may have to lathe down the lug nut depressions if they aren't big enough for the TR7 lug nuts. This should be done by some one that knows what they are doing so you don't weaken the structure of the wheel. I wouldn't want to do it by guess and by golly.

Sell the Dolomite wheels and get some that do fit properly, all that buggerising about isn't worth the pain and suffering!

I have spacers on my standard TR7 steel wheels in order to clear the big Capri 2.8i brake callipers. They've been on there for years and work perfectly. The kit came from Robsport International but I'm sure S&S Preparations will be able to supply the same thing.

+1 (From S&S). The spacers were 4mm thick before I changed over to 14" alloys.
