Here’s where to discuss anything specific about your standard(ish) car or something that applies to the model in general.

It's after market, mine used to have the carbon fibre kit until I removed it and sold it to someone else.
You can get them from S&S if you like that sort of thing, not my cup of tea but everyone to their own.

I must admit that they are not my cup of tea either. Just look to me like they are stuck on bits.

That's good because some of mine is missing so rather than buy some more I will have to try and take it off without damaging the dash

Wood doesn't look good on a newer (as in 70's+) car (don't like it on Jags either). For people that want to upgrade their interior, there is a company that sells leather overlays for the dash etc. Choice of colour and also colour of stitching. I was thinking black with red stitching would look good in the Spider but then I couldn't get the collector plates/insurance. Incidentally there was a special edition Jag that had carbon fiber interior in place of wood, that would look good (on them).

I'm glad it's not only me that thinks these bits of mock wood look absolutely awful. But then, I think the TR7 dash is the best looking there's ever been so I wouldn't like to change it in any way. Just my opinion for anyone that's stuck these bit in so doesn't mean a damned thing. If anyone has them and likes them it's their car and they can do what they like with it.

There are plenty of second hand dash parts out there for anyone who has inherited a car with these mods and wants to put it back.

This is the dash we inherited with one of my cars - anyone who knows me will know i like originality but this has been tastefully done .... saying that it will be ripped out shortly, but John_C don't get too excited as the whole dash is being replaced with the earlier black version with carbon fibre inserts ....

I like to get mine to standard I think classic cars get ruined putting bits on although on my Boot it has a Richard Grant spoiler which I have not yet decided if I am going to keep yet.

[quote="John_C"] But then, I think the TR7 dash is the best looking there's ever been so I wouldn't like to change it in any way. [./quote]

Many dashes from the '70's, 80's and 90's look good. Then they all changed to metallic dashes with lots of chrome and silver rings (fine in the 50's and 60's on American cars) about the same time they decided to make them all look alike with their sucker fish grills etc. I won't be owning any 2,000 decade cars. No doubt they will change to a different style by the 2020's.

I've always loved the original TR7 dashboard. I haven't ever seen anything as good on any other car. But I'm not against modifications it's just that perfection can't be improved on (just like me!). My car looks completely standard until you look under the skin but I do like the original style rally car spoiler on a fixed head and the Viper body kit vastly improves the looks of the drophead. Whatever anyone wants to do it's their car. Although it is nice to hear of so many original four speed cars now being saved around the world.

I would like real wood, but plastic wood.........Naaaahhhhhh! nor real wood that looks plastic, such as so many modern cars have.....Why would you take real wood and make it look imitation??????????

I received the black leather with black stitching A-Pillar covers, center console, parking brake boot, and shifter boot for my resto-mod TR7 for Christmas.

I haven't had time to install them as yet.

I still need the dash and instrument hood pieces that I'll have to buy, myself.

Be sure to post pictures when you get it installed, please!
