Hallo all together,
yesterday i tried to pull up the steel wheels from the hub. I had this
problem once before last year. It won`t get down from the hub.
Last year there was a little burr around the 4 wholes. I drilled these
away and could mount the wheels.
What could be the reason ?
Is it the tolerance of the distance between the wholes or the poor
qualitiy of the wheels ?
Or the studs aren't centric to the wholes of the hub or the wheel or the
centre whole is to small ?
What would you suggest ?

Not sure about the steel wheels but the alloys are 'hubcentric'. The are quite a tight fit on the hubs. I have also found on other more modern cars (wifes 207 in particular) that the wheels seem to get stuck with moisture and dirt. They can take a good hard kick on the edge/tyre to get them to break away. On some I have had to use a jemmy through the holes against the hub to break it free, although there is generally not much in the way of holes in a steelie.

As per Saabfast, the wheels are centred by the central hole in the wheel on to the hub. I've had issues in the past where corrosion between the two surfaces made them very difficult to separate but a smear of copper grease solved that on reassembly.

Something doesn't seem right if your steel wheel is binding on the studs preventing removal. I always found that the wheel was a comparatively loose fit on them. Is your issue just with one wheel? Are these std 7 steel wheels? If you can post a photo someone might spot what the problem is.

This is usually caused by the wheels losing their shape. Fortunately they're cheap to replace.
