Probably just some joyriding dickheads, hopefully they've just abandoned it without any further damage when they'd finished with it.
I recall a motorcycle that was stolen and abandoned, illegally parked, right outside the front of the Richmond police station, it was undiscovered by the idiot cops for two weeks!
And there was a stolen Jag sitting outside a mates place in Malvern for months, it wasn't discovered as stolen, until the local council finally got off their fat arses and decided to investigate the residents complaints.
So the car could well be sitting in a street somewhere.
I doubt it would've been knocked off to sell the parts as the market for these bits is very specialised, which would make such a proposition quite risky.
The market for our cars is also specialised so it's unlikely to have been pinched to sell on.
The professional crooks are too busy swiping stuff like Commodores, Subarus etc. stuff that is easy to sell because it has a large ready market of buyers who are either unsuspecting or aren't to fussy about where it came from.
I will keep my eyes peeled, for your car.
