Does anyone have one of these fitted?

I bought just the perspex and aluminium strip, but this came without any of the other brackets and fittings.

SISA want 100 euros for these fittings !!!!! If anyone has one of these deflectors I'm wondering if they could provide me with dimensions/diagrams of the fittings. Im sure i could fabricate some cheaper !!!!

Brian, just spotted this post. I have a perspex deflector but I bought it secondhand so don't know the make but this is how the mounting looks.



There is a flat plate under the seatbelt fitting with the part shown upright in the photo. There are then two "L" shaped pieces of steel that slot into the mount and into the aluminium rail of the deflector.

I can take some more pictures if you need them.

I'll post some pictures here so then everyone can see them in case its useful.
Its all on the car at the moment and a under a dust cover in the garage but I can easy take some more snaps.

Final position. The small hole is for a plastic peg to lock in position and make sure it doesn't fly off at speed!

Went for a drive with my son in the 8 last night, him driving.

I did notice I was getting more breeze from behind than I do in the S2000 with it's deflector up, while driving to the main road.

However, once out of speed restrictions & he hit me in the back with all 330 BHP in second, all thoughts of where any wind was coming from were obliterated. This car with it's mew manual gearbox really is brutal when driven hard. Even the retardation from engine braking is heavy. It is no longer a car to impress most ladies.

So, unless you wish to please ladies, you could add a hundred BHP, & have all thoughts of wind deflectors driven from your mind.

On my wind deflector there is a blast of air that comes through the gap between the deflector and the body. I cured this by using pipe insulation - it fits in the gap nicely and made of black neoprene it doesn't look too bad either

Looking at the photo's, if you are going to make new brackets I wonder if the screen needs to be raised at all. I think it would be far easier to make straight brackets that do not bend upwards at the side of the seat belt mounting. This would mean no space or very little space for draughts at the bottom of the screen. This would mean that the method of attachment to the brackets would need to be given some thought unless you wish to remove and re fit a seat belt reel everytime you fitted the wind breaker. supercass

Here's how mine attached. For some reason,I can't see any photos in this topic.

The plate goes under the reel, then a thumb screw attaches the shields to the place. The whole unit stays in place when raising or lowering the top.

Although a different blocker (BMW Z3) my attachment is similar in concept to Tim's. The shape was determined by not wanting to drill any unnecessary holes. I used the BMW brackets up side down and an Allen wrench undoes a long screw holding the blocker to brackets, easily removed at those times when you want to stow the blocker in the trunk (when parked overnight in unknown street location). Because the blocker is hinged it can be folded down flat on the carpeted shelf when the top is up. It could sit 1" to 1 1/2" higher as the wind still catches the hair at my ride height which may necessitate some material at the bottom to prevent drafts underneath. A problem I will address when I have the time to do so (I have it pencilled in before my 80th birthday ). The only other tweeks would be to reinforce the stainless brackets as they wobbble a bit. The blocker is a bit narrow as the Z3 is a narrower car (remember the TR7 cockpit is wider than a Corvette) but I can't say it affects the side draft, won't really know until it's raised.
