Here’s where to discuss anything specific about your standard(ish) car or something that applies to the model in general.

4-Speed overdrive (fao John)

Postby paulheritage » 15 Nov 2015 21:45

Finally sourced the 'correct' overdrive gearbox for my (current 4-speed) 1976 TR7. It is a WH type single-rail J-Type gearbox that was fitted to the Dolomite 1850. it all feels really good and includes the actual gearbox, overdrive, solenoid, gear stick, overdrive switch and has cleaned up like new.

I now have to think about fitting and thought I'd ask for any advice before I start, since I know John has already done it.

Cheers.
