Can you let us know the year of your car then we can advise you of the correct decals. A basic summary is Speke built cars through to end of 1978 had the original TR7 nose badge with matching "Triumph TR7" on the bootlid (Rollerball type font). When production transferred to Canley in 1979 the new giant Triumph laurel wreath decal on the nose and bold TRIUMPH TR7 on the boot with "2.0 Litre" plastic badges on the front wings. Then the last of the line cars (which were mainly built at Solihull) had the Triumph enamel badge on the front but otherwise the same elsewhere.

As far as I know only the Solihull cars had the 2 litre side badges. supercass

X 2 from me. Solihull cars had the 2.0L badges on the front wings. Canley cars didn't.
I went for black decals on mine. Some described it on the forum as "subtle". I didn't want the bright insignia that I'd seen on other wedges. I've known owners who didn't want any decals at all.

Hi, I am just finishing a full restoration on a Cavalry blue convertible. This fairly dark blue triumph colour usually seems to be treated to the silver decals. This is the route that I have taken and I think looks great with that colour.

I'd agree...... Have you an anecdote that I could use in Volume Two of 'A Celebration of All Things SEVEN'?

My early '76 car has a small plastic stick on Leyland badge on the front wing. Look in the Rimmer catalog. They have some, not all of the badges

The change from the first incarnation of the car to the later tartan seat, full width plastic wheel rim car occurred in March 1977. If you have a car prior to this (and assuming it has the small black plastic wheel trims) then your car came with the British Leyland badge on the lower front wing. No one notices if these little badges are missing though so it's up to you.

The TR Drivers Club produced a comprehensive 18 page book on this subject in 2008. It even has diagrams showing placement positions with dimensions. It is called "The Placement of TR7 & TR8 Badges and Decals".

I like the subtle decals like what bushytrader has used with the exception of the Spider as it only came one way and changing it would change what the car was. Triumph always wanted the high contrast option. If they had a low contrast option to Tumeric Yellow I would use it. I guess the option would be to get custom decals made but as I want the car bone stock (I think) I may ultimately go with the original black. That decision is long down the road.
