Engine at 2800RPM at wide open throttle

Engine had fast idle then will always stall when pushing on the gas pedal. Has 34,000 miles on it. Had carbs and FASD rebuilt, replaced spark plugs, rotor, plug wires. Has Illumination Electronic Ignition. Carbs and FASD working properly. At 2100RPM engine runs smooth and drops to 1200RPM when FASD slows idle. At all RPM's engine will not go over 2500RPM's at wide open throttle. If carbs are adjusted to 1200 RPM or below engine will shake and miss badly but will run smoothly at 2100PRM. Took for ride and car will not go over 15 MPH. Connected emergency start box which has three leads...two go to the battery and the other goes into distributor cap after you remove the coil wire. This box is supposed to replace your coil and distributor. Did this but all the same problems still exist when using the start box. Any help would be appreciated.

From the original problem I it sounds like the engine was leaning out when you applied throttle. I would start with looking for intake air leaks. Also a history of the how the problem started would be a useful diagnostic tool.
