UK launch brochure

I just bought a UK sales brochure on Ebay dated April 76, presumably printed in readiness for the UK launch of the TR7. I know it's not a rare thing but I found it quite interesting to read comments like "It's shape was totally out of the TR idiom" and "A car designed on the basis of major motoring needs for the next 20 years" (well, the next 6 years anyway!). Some good pictures too, including one of Harris Mann's styling sketches & the well known Autocar cut away drawing.

The brochure features pictures of 2 cars JWK 969P & JWK 970P. 969P looks like a standard UK spec car but 970P is a LHD car but with UK spec bumpers & no side running lights, also one of the interior pictures is of a LHD car. Why use a LHD car to illustrate a UK brochure? Knowing BL they probably couldn't find two RHD cars [:)

Both cars still exist and are on the road(or rally stage), one a low ACG and the other an ACL. Because the brochure was actually designed in December 1974, RHD cars were few and far between. It was issued over a year later because the original launch date was postponed more than once

I thought the usual ploy was to reverse the negatives. Guess it depends on the sort of detail they want in the pic though! supercass

I met (online) the lady model in this brochure.. she's now an archiologist.
