Early carpets

Postby paulheritage » 28 Aug 2014 19:58

Just noticed this week when pulling the carpets out of the '76 TR7 that they're moulded with a raised section for the base of the steering column, but also the passenger side is the same but without the hole (so the same for carpets used for LHD and RHD).

Probably old news but I never realised before that they were actually properly moulded to fit.

Cheers Paul,

1976 TR7 2.0 FHC, ACG 3115 - Java Green (now sold)

I believe the original carpets were "molded" to fit (better) but only the Spider with the grey shag carpet was a molded one piece carpet (foam rubber backed).
