So I have got my car roadworthy and am trying to sort out some minor issues.While fitting some new carburetor float needles my eye wandered to the HT lead from the coil on the inner wing to the distributor a yard away.There is obviously a correct method of fixing this instead of artistically draping it over various parts of the engine bay,but this eludes me.Enlightenment would be appreciated.I remember fitting a bright orange lead as a fix when it broke down in my son's ownership when he trapped it in the bonnet catch.Thanks in advance,Steve,,

Is the coil in the original place?

Can you post up a photo? There's always help available here.

I vaguely remember that the coil lead had to be a long one and that clips on the top of the engine held the leads in place. I can't remember the layout as I haven't had a 2.0L engine in mine since 1991. Have you looked at Rimmers website? Their technical pictures are lifted straight from the original parts books and very useful.

As far as I can remember my long lead just gracefully swoops down and back up to the dizzy, with a couple of bits of split water pipe over it at potential rubbing points. Will have a look when I get the car later

Confirmed, can't see that you con do much with it other than zip tie it to the servo vac tube (which I have just done looking at it).
