Sunroof :(

Here’s where to discuss anything specific about your standard(ish) car or something that applies to the model in general.

Sunroof :(

Postby scarface031 » 15 Apr 2014 23:42

So my sunroof is basically destroyed.

What kind of sunroof is this exactly called? A webasto?

Where can I get it repaired or a new one? I live in New Lenox, Illinois

How much would I spend on something like this?

This is a 1976 TR7

Hi Justin.
Its not a Webasto, its an Edrose sunroof. Yours looks more intact on the outside than most I've seen. The interior headlining can be replaced. Any trimmer should be able to do so.
I haven't found anyone that can supply new exterior skins, but I'd be interested to find out if anyone can.
Good luck.
Scotty.

Thanks scotty! It looks like the 2 plastic slides are both broken and really the only thing holding it on is the latch.

How is the water kept out of the car when it rains?

I think you can get replacement slides from Rimmers.
I had a Webasto roof in my old Alfa 105 series GTV 2000, it was a mess, the top cover was split, my local motor trimmer redid the whole thing.
So I suggest you go have a talk to your local motor trimmer or checkout the local sunroof fitters
