Here's smart alec response. Use your steering wheel to drive only on the smooth parts of the road.

Now for the non smart alec response. Check the door hinges for tightness as well as the latch mechanism.

Have you checked the pins in the hinges for wear?

How is the metal in the A post & the door frame, where the hinges, catches & the anti burst fittings attach?

Let the lady drive, & you sit by the doubtful door, chewing your finger nails, for what ever reason.

You could weld up the door and tell the missus she has to jump in Daisy Duke style, just think how much stronger your shell would be if you welded both doors.[:D]

Does the door rattle or is there visible movement on rough roads between the quarter lights and the windscreen frame?
Excessive movement may point to weakening of the cars structure.
